Tips For Chosing The Perfect Shoe Horn

The shoe horn seems to be something that has gone out of style, or at least, many don’t think they need to use them any longer. There are times when I wish I had one, as I have ruined the backs of many good pairs of shoes trying to get them on when I should have just untied them first. I know it’s my own fault, but a good shoe horn may have allowed me to slip my feet in so I could run out the door in a hurry. I’m always late and I am always the last one out the door. Any little bit of help would be appreciated.

I remember when I was a little girl there was a shoe horn in my grandfather’s bedroom. I never knew what it was, but for some reason, I always wanted to play with it. My grandmother told me that it was a shoe horn, but she didn’t really explain what that meant. I pretended it was many things, but I was also careful not to lose it. One day my uncle finally told me what it was, and because I had only worn sneakers up until that point, I was still a little baffled.

Years later I found one in my dad’s house, but he never used his either. He told me that it had belong to his dad, and that shoe horn was one of the last things of his fathers that he had. He showed me how to use the shoe horn, and allowed me to use it whenever I went there to stay. I really didn’t have a need to use it, of course, but I thought it was something very cool and very old fashioned. I have always been fascinated with things from the past, and how things use to be done.

You don’t see the shoe horn very much any more, but if you go into some shoe stores they do have them. They are a great way to get your foot into a shoe without bending down the back. It is also much easier to slip your foot in that way as well. If you don’t see a shoe horn in a store, you may just have to ask for one if you need one, as they probably have one lying around somewhere for when a customer asks to use one.
